As an integral member of a small, highly capable national team, in this newly created role, you will have overall responsibility for enhancing the presence and purpose of the site’s WHS function, as well as facilitating ownership of WHS issues. Your key objective will be to partner effectively with operational management to facilitate effective WHS leadership and engagement at all levels.
With relevant formal qualifications, you must be able to demonstrate a proven record of success ideally within a unionised industrial environment. You must also demonstrate the energy, drive, resilience and relentless determination to implement practical WHS solutions into the day to day operations. Your ability to effectively communicate, problem solve, influence and build credible relationship at all levels of the business will be critical to your success.

WHS Manager - Sydney Central - $110K to $150K

A newly designed role reporting to the Managing Director, you will have overall responsibility for enhancing the presence and purpose of the WHS function, as well as facilitating ownership of WHS issues. Your key objective will be to partner effectively with various stakeholders and site project teams to facilitate effective WHS leadership and engagement at all levels. In addition, you will be responsible for the review, development and implementation of comprehensive WHS management systems that contribute to a strategy of best practice WHS process and results. You will achieve this through influencing, mentoring and hands-on support of teams across multiple sites nationally and in New Zealand.
This is a hands-on role for someone with relevant formal qualifications in safety, engineering or a related discipline. Your ability to effectively communicate, problem solve, and build credible relationships at all levels within the business, as well as with an external customer base, will be critical to your success. In addition, you must be a proactive, results oriented WHS professional with a keen customer service focus, who is able to deliver commercially practical solutions. Experience within a project, logistics or construction environment is highly desirable although not essential. Knowledge of Safety Design would also be advantageous.
